Townsfolk Employment

EMPLOYMENT

We all know how a farmer makes his or her living, but what about the people in town? How much money do they have? How do they earn more, and how much can they spend? Thankfully, the amount of money a townsperson may spend is all discretionary -- you don't have to spend money on bills, groceries, or rent, as that's all handwaved. If your character wants to run a shop, doing so is very easy. Just talk to the mayor and he'll set you up!

Of course, if your character needs some hands-on training or wants to take over one of the main stores, they can choose to labor as an apprentice. Apprentices earn half of the profit the store takes in from its customers. A full-time store owner earns all of the profits, though they may wish to divide income with any employees they hire. This income can be spent to buy any number of common ingredients or crops that have been shipped. A character is assumed to have a kitchen, so they can prepare cooked dishes as gifts.

Below is a list of shops, and customizing options. If the shop is bolded, it means your character can apply for an apprenticeship. If two characters wish to work as apprentices, they must share the income. Typically, the employee who has worked at the store the longest will be the owner after the NPC bows out (usually after an apprentice has worked at the store for a full year).
